Testdisk/Photorec for Android?

#1 Post by blacklcm »

I'm looking to recover files from a reformatted internal sdcard on a tablet running Jelly Bean. Tablet is rooted but JB no longer allows me to enable USB mass storage, so I can only connect to PC as an MTP device. Photorec run on PC does not, therefore, detect entire internal card - only part mounted as sdcard. Would like to be able to run Testdisk actually on the tablet is this at all possible?

Alternatively I have also read that if I can create a RAW image of the entire (64GB) internal card, I can then use testdisk on the image to try recovery that way.

Please can you advise the best way to try. Any help gratefully received!!
Thanks in advance.
