does testdisk repair the broken drive?
In the case of lost partition that is recovered, does testdisk fix the broken drive or map the found files so they can be copied to a new drive?

it seems that that 32bit version is working ---- im my case the 64bit version is the one that is failing

testdisk stop working
It seems that a windows update caused testdisk to stop working -- has any one else had this issue?

Hello --- I have a usb drive connected to my computer --- I use it to clone the 2nd hard drive in my computer --- that drive is a "data disk" which also includes backup
files.
The other day when I tried to run my clone job ( robocopy ) I got errors and the contents of one directory is now empty ...

hello --- thanks for the reply --- yes I am aware that any raid config required at least 2 drive, but what is strange in this case is that there was just one drive in the NAS box
Would it be possible to scan the drive trying to find any file markers? and capture that data?

thanks for your reply --- I was using the tool to query the driver some more and it found that the drive was "linux raid" -- but there was just one drive in the unit ---
is "linux raid" some variant of ext?

Hello -- I just pulled out the hard drive from a desktop NAS device -- these devices usually run some version of linux -- I tried to mount the
disk but there sees not to a linux style filesystem
I then scan the disk with testdisk and it to note that there was no fat fat32 exit2 .... file system ...
