Are you using the most recent TestDisk package (containing PhotoRec and QPhotoRecWin)?
There might be an issue with an older version.

Leider fehlen die Endungen xls(x) in der Dateiauswahlliste. Woran liegt das? pptx ist z.B. drin...
Die moderneren Office-Formate, die auf "x" enden, sind technisch gesehen alle ZIP-archive.
Der Extra-Eintrag für pptx erschließt sich mir auch nicht.

Sorry I didn't see your reply, yes I will give it a try.
Here is an update, everything in this post was performed on the ddrescue image clone of the hard disk.
I tried fsck:

Please post your complete log file.
If you only deleted a partition entry (not the content of the partition) TestDisk should be able to help you.

I had three drives which reported "The backup GPT table is not on the end of the device."
Recommendations were to run sgdisk -e /dev/sdx
I ran sgdisk -e on all three drives and now they show no data. I know the data is still there.
Is there a way to reverse what I did? I see lots of things ...
