Jamsah, run testdisk, select /dev/sdb, Intel, Advanced, Boot, RebuildBS, List.
If you can see your files, choose Write, confirm, Quit and restart your computer.


Followed cgrenier instructions properly:
TesDisk > /dev/sdb > Intel > Advanced > Boot > RebuildBS > List .

And I successfully found ...

Dear recuperation,
Thank you for your instructions.

Used GSMartControl and CrystalDiskInfo to S.M.A.R.T test the drive. But none of them recognised (showed generic symbols) and did not show anything other than, " Disk Not Found " and " No drive selected ".

Thank You for your speedy reply and instructions.

Just to make sure I don't mess up any more than I have done so far:
1 ) Do I have to choose ReBuildBS even if I think this is a physical fault (unusual noise; beeps, clicks etc as if though waking up from standby/sleep/power saving ...
