I see. Thanks for the information. But since I have all my important data back thanks to PhotoRec, and I can't do anything to fix my old drive, I think I can skip doing another long recovery on the new one. Just one more question, according to the log above, is my old drive any good now? Or will ...

The log file shows a lot of CRC errors. There are bad sectors. You should clone the disk to a new empty one using ddrescue as described in https://www.cgsecurity.org/testdisk.pdf
Once it's done, remove the original disk and try to recover your files from the clone.
