Reboot into Linux. Run PhotoRec. Reboot into Windows. The partition is reported to be empty. Reboot in Linux ...

Re: Files/Directories on exFat are not viewable from Windows (ran chmod 777 DIRECTORY/ -R)

chkdsk. Windows reported the partition was locked, and asked it I wanted to unlock it. I said No, as it said it would delete open handles. I booted back up in Linux, and the files are gone. (!!!) Files/Directories on exFat are not viewable from Windows (ran chmod 777 DIRECTORY/ -R)

Linux is writing files to a Windows exFat partition on a Windows OS disk which are INVISIBLE to Windows. How do I make these files visible to Windows?

I used Photorec, from Linux (running on an external SSD), to recover files to this exFat partition (internal drive).

The exFat partition is 62 ...

First PhotoRec directory is empty (??), Subsequent ones are not (recup_dir.2 , .3)

I ran PhotoRec (Linux) to recover some documents.

The first directory, recup_dir.1 contains a single entry, an empty directory named Recovery

Recup_dir.1 and recup_dir.2 contain many files, but no Recovery directory.

I'm making sure this is correct. I thought the first 500 files went to recup_dir ...
