I appreciate the offer Remy, but because I am in the United States, I think I will try a place that is more local. I am also trying to get the manufacturer of the card to reimburse me for any costs that I many incur for the recovery process.

Hi Remy, my computer skills are limited and I am not sure how to do what you describe. I am thinking of taking the card into aRecovery House, hopefully they will have better luck with it than I have.

Thanks Grenier. So far only one card reader out of 4 was able to get the sd card to be recognized by the PC. It was very funky, I was shooting one second with my Canon dslr, and the next second I get an error message.
