After I select my partition at the start of photorec dialog, which is an ext4 file system, it then goes straight to destination selection; I have no option to select Free or Whole, so it just ends up recovering from Whole partition instead.
My partition is unmounted as I'm doing this.
Anyone know ...

Unable to search free space with photorec
When I search an NTFS partition, I see the option to search Whole or Free space, but when I search my ext4 partition, I don't get this option. Some extra info:
- I know it's EFI GPT table and thats the partition table type thats been selected
- I know it's ext4 (I checked via lsblk -f)
- I'm using ...
