I ran a second scan, the app got stuck at the same sector. So it's safe to assume that one is bad and TestDisk can't get past it. Should I run a sector scan to isolate the bad one? Would you recommend a specific tool for that?

God!, this thread is so detailed, I couldn't get to read it! (My German is quite rusty, too.)
I did something stupid under Linux, deleted the EFi partition and tried to overwrite it with the main data partiton. All on a 4TB data disk, under Ubuntu.
Now my data partition is RAW and no filesystem ...
