Re: Need more details for Boot Sector Rebuild

It's very unusual to see an harddisk without a partition table.
Can you try Advanced, Boot, RebuildBS, List ?
If you can see your files, choose Write, confirm, Quit and restart your computer.

Re: Help recovering files from accidentally formatted ext HDD

The correct partition is usually the first HFS+ partition.
Select it, if you see "+ Backup" on the last line of the screen, you have found a valid partition, set it as P(rimary) and on next screen, choose Write, confirm, Quit and restart your computer.

Re: Photorec for my OSX refuses to work

To be correct, the problem is with sudo: configuration for sudo is world writable.
As root, run "chmod 0440 /etc/sudoers".

Do not wait, you can try now on your Windows. If you have the same oversize log file, it's probably due to an electronic or physical damage.
In this case, you should contact a data recovery company.

There are Linux, Mac OSX and Windows version of ddrescue.
How long does it take to create such image ?

Re: Help recovering files from accidentally formatted ext HDD

I have never seen this error "Device not configured".
Google says that some users have this error after deleting the directory from where an application (testdisk in your case) was running.
