As you say, it really has taken the pressure off knowing she has found the copies of her files. Just wish she'd found them sooner.:-D

With her having so much of the data I'm inclined to just try to format the drive and hopefully make it useable again ...

I've tried running TestDisk again this time installed on to a seperate external drive.

I've included the screenshots again and the log shows that TestDisk appears to close correctly.

I didn't know how to update the drivers as it was just a plug in and use external drive. In Device Manager thee was a yellow question mark against USB Device but message said Windows was unable to update the drivers.
