File Repair instead of Lost/Deleted File

Any chance of using/upgrading Photorec to repair corrupt files not just find "lost" files that are on a drive. For cases where one has the file but the file is just screwed up?

It has been a long time since the "stable" versions of TestDisk and PhotRec were release. I know we can get the beta for the latest features, but it might be nice if a new stable we released. Then some of the distributions that only carry the stable releases will get some of the new features/fixes ...
