I keep coming back to this, and now that I have made a DD image and physically disconnected the drive, I wiped the partition table, and did a full scan with the detected settings (log attached)

Re: [solved]Recovery of Linux partions
I spoke of 200 in my last post, but now I think there were more than 400. Also after some time I tended to press "q" to early and had to redo the deep scan.

Once a dd image is made, do we still need the drive?
When attempting to recover partitions from a drive, if a DD image is made of the whole drive, do we need the physical drive?
Same question goes for file recovery: If we have a DD image of the whole drive, is there any benefit to keeping the physical drive intact?
Thanks

Here are the logs so far.
Before I knew that "Create new log" simply erased the old one, I did have a scan that showed a Linux partition, but it was unrecoverable (probably because the sectors were set to 512). I'm unsure what setup got me there, but I have not seen it since.

I'm transitioning from an Ubuntu fileserver to OSX, and I backed up almost everything before what I'm about to tell you, the only thing that I didn't back up yet was the family pictures.
