I have the same problem. It's been extremely slow for the past day or two. At this rate it would take 69 daysto complete according to my calculations. I'm hoping that this is just it going over bad sectors and it will speed up soon.

Nope, testdisk and photorec cannot retrieve data from an encrypted partition or disk.
Did you already try to recover your backup of your volume header?
There is a tool available called testcrypt, which can make truecrypt volumes recoverable.
In case, contact the author?

Can PhotoRec recover Truecrypt volumes?

From what I have read, they don't have signatures. Is there no way to recover one of these from a damaged hard drive?

To ignore data before a certain sector, start a recovery using PhotoRec 6.14-WIP or later, stop it, edit the photorec.ses with a text editor like wordpad or notepad++, modify the sector near the end of the second line (a very long line) just before ",inter"..
I did this and it's now completely ...

Photorec stuck in infinite loop

It keeps going through sectors between 518300000 and 518500000, never reaching 519000000. How do I fix this so I can continue with the data recovery?
