MP4 ist in TestDisk in einer Dateityp-Famile bei *.mov mit eingepackt.
In PhotoRec kann unter FileOpt s gedrückt werden um alle Dateitypen abzuwählen ...

Re: Bad Sector issue with 1 TB ex HDD
TestDisk can find a FAT32 LBA boot sector or its backup earlier.
The backup of the FAT boot sector is sector 6 of your partition.
Boot sector is always the first sector of a partition.

As long as you don't use Write, Repair FAT or NTFS and BackupBS or OrgBS, nothing would be changed to your disk.
When you close TestDisk, all modifications will be lost.
The menu Advanced makes only sense, when your partition in your partition table would be correct.

Re: VERY SLOW GPT SCAN on a 5TB Disk
On EFI GPT partitions are listed as MS Data.
When you select a partition, at the bottom of the testdisk display, you´ll find info about your boot sector or superblock and file system.
TestDisk detects your partition table as Intel and not EFI GPT.
It's probably the cause, why your GUID partition ...

Can you copy and paste the content of your testdisk.log into your next post?
I'd like to check the status of you current partition structure (partition table).
When your partitions are available, it might be an idea to check your boot sector and its backup.

Whole space scans the entire space of your disk or partition and will recover every supported file.

Did you already go into your device manager and USB-Controller?
You can select your Generic USB HUB, right click on it, choose Properties and Energy-Management and you can disable that your PC switches off your USB device to save energy.
Also watch the energy-options of your PC.
