usually that's what i do, however one ore two folders on that drive with semi-important pictures are now lost

Sorry for the bump. i do fear there is no hope for my partitions. does anyone have an idea how to recover them?

Now i have finished the quick search, the deeper search and a partition backup.
2 Partitions were found labeled (D) MS Data, the first says (NTFS found using backup sector).

however when i "open" the first NTFS partition no files appear (screenshot 2):

I have a couple of general questions reagarding testdisk.
first: i already learned that the 64bit-version may not be the optimal version for recovering my lost NTFS partition, so i'm currently re-analyzing my HDD with the 32bit version.
I wanted to create a new Mac Partition on my 2TB ...
