Copying your data to another healthy disk would be the best solution.
RepairMFT is only intended when chkdsk doesn't work or stops.
It can modify your file system.

I'm not sure which forum I should post this on, so sorry if I'm wrong...

While I was moving files from my phone to my laptop, my laptop hanged then some files were not moved -no matter what I do (undo, paste, etc.), the files were just gone.
