Thanks for the reply. Yes, I tried both the ext2/3/4 and the other setting.
I happened to get lucky on this and found a tool that was able to play video from the raw disk. I tried one of the vendor tools and, even though it failed, it gave me a hint that it was looking for a Vineyard formatted ...
