I stopped the copy process, since it was generating lot of errors. I rescan the filesystem and wrote it to the card. Now I can access the card from windows and all files that were not listed as red in testdisk filebrowser seem to be intact.

Actually the reason why it did not work was that at some point in middle of the night between the attempts I selected my 64gb cache SSD instead of 64gb microsd so it was user error. I tried now with 7.1, selected intel and exfat partition was found. I'm now in process of ...

Solution:
-Use 7.1, 7.0 got stuck
-Recover correct drive (at one point I tried to recover wrong device ;) )
-7.1 detected the exfat correctly and I was able to write the partition info back to card.
