I've tried using both a Sabrent and UGREEN SATA to USB 3 adapters if that matters at all - both are powered by an external power supply of course ...

Using a fedora live distro, I managed to check in gparted and the drive contain 3 partitions, a "microsoft LDM metada" (small), "unknown" (small) and "microsoft LDM data" (large).
