Support for NTFS on Mac

#1 Post by Raptor23 »

I have successfully used testdisk on both my laptop (Windows 10) and my desktop (macOS Big Sur 11.2.1). However, when I try to do anything with an NTFS disk from my Mac, I get a messages stating, "Support for this filesystem wasn't enabled during compilation."

As a test, I reformatted a drive (as NTFS) using my Windows machine. When I use testdisk from that machine, all is well. However, I can't get testdisk to read it from my Mac. Although, it DOES mount on my Mac and I can read or write to or from it.

How do I get testdisk to read NTFS disks from my Mac? (i.e., how do I install NTFS support?)
