Hi,
I accidentally deleted my main folder of my NAS. 4TB of data is lost.
I hooked up all the drives to my computer and now I am trying to undelete (undo) what I did. I saw a youtube video of a guy using photorec. But all his files had new names. If that is the case i cant use this. I had 4TB of raw images on the NAS. If photorec gives the files new names i will never be able to go through them.

I just read that photorec will not keep the file names and directories.
I am trying testdisk now. But I cannot see my 3TB hdd which is connected on USB. Testdisk looks a bit like DOS and I have no experience
Anyone that could help, that is very appreciated. I am also willing to pay for someone to help me

Yes, PhotoRec creates new names and doesn't recover directories.
TestDisk works in a terminal or console!
It has a text user interface and you can handle it through your arrow and page up and down keys.
So it's not a command line interface.
To confirm something you must press enter.
TestDisk only will edit or change something, if you confirm at Write and you must confirm a second time with y for yes.
As long you don't use any Write, there is no change to your disk.
If TestDisk lists your data, it keeps file names and directories.
You'd be able to copy them also.
If your partition table or boot sector is corrupted, you can repair them and make your file system visible to your OS.
Do you have any idea about your file system from your NAS?
If your NAS is a Network Device, is your NAS listed in TestDisk?
Infos about a diagnose will follow.

Thanks for your reply. I've sent my Synology NAS to a professional service. I couldn't figure out how to re-create the link to recover the files.
I think all what is needed is a partition table to be recreated.
