Suspend while recovering

well, it kinda happened. chkdisk damaged a ntfs partition (really, I was astonished), so ol good photorec is scanning an saving lost files.
thing is I left the PC crunchying data, and after some hour Icame back and it was in suspended state (you know, the thing when it goes in low energy mode, and when you click the kb it starts immediately)
Seems like he didn't consider photorec, which was reading and writing data, as "PC in use".
So now I have a question: upon restart is SEEMS photorec restarted from where it was, continuing to write data.
(I see that on the main window, it's still reading/recovering)
Thy question: is this fine? Is this intended? can I trust the recovered data?
Thanks.
