Recover files from Bootcamp NTFS

#1 Post by carllindberg »

Hi, I had a Bootcamp NTFS partition with windows xp and a partition with Mac OS X 10.6.8.

I deleted the NTFS partition and then increased the size of the MAC partition over the previous Bootcamp partition via the Mac OS disc utility, probably quick formated - so the data isn't really overwritten. It looks graphically anyways in the disc utility that the part of the hard drive where the boot camp partition was previously formated is untouched - despite it's now all allocated for one big mac partition.

Now I discovered that I had some files that I need to get out... that I thought was already backed up.

Can I access to them trough disc test some how so I can make a backup of them (if they are still not overwritten)? And how can i do it then? Or should I use another tool?

Thanks for a fantastic tool that has helped me before.
