Hello. Let me first thank you for making this wonderful program freely available!

I downloaded PhotoRec 6.13 in order to recover files from a 16GF compact Flash card I accidentally reformatted. Several utilities can "see" the deleted files, but before paying for them I wanted to try PhotoRec. The card was used to store photos in a Nikon D300 shot in "Raw" format. Nikon uses the .NEF file type. The documentation includes this file type as recoverable. But PhotoRec 6.13 will not recover .NEF files for me.

When I choose "File Opt" and scroll through the list of file it will locate, "nef" is NOT on the list! I am working on an Intel MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.8

Is there a way to get my .NEF files back?

Thanks for responding, and so promptly.
I did download the TestDisk 6.14 package and it was the PhotoRec contained in that package that yielded the results I described. I referred to it as PhotoRec 6.14 only because the website referred to TestDisk as a new version but not PhotoRec. I was using a version downloaded just a couple hours ago, and now I notice the first line of text in my terminal window is: "PhotoRec 6.14-WIP, Data Recovery Utility, March 2012 ".

I meant "I referred to it as PhotoRec 6.13..."

nef are part if the TIFF file familly.
