USB problem, weird behaviour diff. between Win 7 and Win XP

Hello, I tried your software in order to see if it's able to undelete a very impotant USB key where I have important data and that had a problem as it's now acting like it's kind of unformatted (I guess)...

So here are the details: I have Win7 x64. If I plug the device, I can see it in explorer: "Removable Disk". If I double click on it, it says "Please insert a disk into Removable Disk".

Might be a problem with the FAT (or FAT32) table.

On this computer this program don't see the USB key at all. But if I change and do the same thing on Windows XP, the key is visible and I can run the program to try to undelete files.

Any idea someone, it's very very weird!!
Best regards

Your message "Please insert a disk into Removable Disk" often indicates a broken key or damaged file system.
Often any space or memory is not recognized anymore.
Please check the size of your key using your disk management console.
How is your key listed in your device manager?
If there is only a USB device listed and without description or label your key would be broken.

Does TestDisk display the correct size of your key?

Please let me know.

Thanx Fiona, I gave up, as nothing worked, the key is probably broken beyond any possibility to recover anything unfortunetaly. And no more time for that.

All the best and thanx a lot for your answer
