Recovered video files not playable (Apple Pro Res 422 files)

#1 Post by vidiot »

Greetings,

I recovered several files including 3 that I think are the ones I need based on their size. They were all Quick Time video clips, Apple Prores 422 and over 100 gigs each. But what I recovered is unable to play. Any idea why?

As Photorec spits out recovered files, are they supposed to be complete? I stopped the process after 24 hours while it was still in pass 1.

If the original files were fragmented, the recovered files may be corrupted. There are various avi/mov/... file repair programs available on internet, usually it's possible to try them before paying them.

Even though none of the needed files on my working disk were recoverable, I was able to recover the raw footage from 2 ssd disks!!! Thats really all i needed. I am one happy camper! :P
