Hi everyone I'm wondering how I would select the drive to save the recovered picture files using PhotoRec. I tried pressing the left arrow key to go back, but I can only go back to the root or very beginning of my C drive and not my Drive which is where I want to do. I'm also wondering if Should I select where it says "Disk \\.\PhysicalDrive0 -1000 GB / 931 GiB (R0)" or "Disk C: - 999 GB / 931 GiB (R0)" (Shown in attached screenshot). What does the (R0) mean? Finally I'm wondering if I Should select [Free] or [Whole] when I'm at the "Please choose if all space need to be analysed" I'm running the PhotoRec executable inside of windows not outside of windows using a Live CD. The operating system that I'm using is windows 8.1 64 bit and my drive is formatted as NTFS. I'm using PhotoRec 7.0.
Edit: I cannot see the ".." or "." like it shows in the Step by Step instructions.

Re: PhotoRec data Recovery Questions
Can you try PhotoRec 7.1-WIP ? Please tell me if you have the same problem to select the destination. Please also try QPhotoRec.
It's better to select the PhysicalDrive0 than C:
RO means Read Only.
