Is testdisk the right solution for me? Thanks

#1 Post by SilentOCN »

Hi All

My situation:

I have 1x 1TB drives which were in RAID 1 configuration. I went into the raid configuration in bios and selected "reset disks to non RAID drives". Upon doing neither drive shows up in windows withut me having to format them. I merely want to recover the 1TB of ro worth of data from the drives.

Is testdisk the right solutino for me or do I need to do something else to get my data back?

many thanks

You had a single drive in Raid 1! Raid 1 is useless without 2 disks (or more).
You can use testdisk to search for the partition. You may have to alter the geometry (geometry menu in testdisk) to set 1 head per cylinder and 1 sector per head.
