How to undelete file which is in nfs mapping?

#1 Post by ajee »

Hi,

In my situation, we have a computer in which some folder is nfs mapped from a remote EMC storage machine. But we don't have the root password of the EMC storage machine. So could I run testdisk in this computer with root and recover the deleted files which is in the mounting point?

I saw it used to be asked in viewtopic.php?t=6540 but I don't have the explicit answer.

Thanks

NFS (Network File System) is a protocol to access a NAS server.
TestDisk & PhotoRec need to run on the NAS server itself. It will not work on the NFS client as NFS only allow file access, not sector access.
You should ask EMC support if they have a workaround.
