Hello and thanks in advance
Long story short I accidentally erased my partitions while trying to install Ubuntu.
I stopped the installation and restarted the computer from a boot usb. I tried to use Testdisk but wasn't sure how to proceed. After analysing a couple times It appeared that the system was creating sectors or something.
So, after Deeper search TestDisk recomended to Use Geometry but I really dont' know how to proceed.
This is the partition I need to recover:
Also this is the log file in case it helps:

Thanks a lot for your help.

Re: Recovering partition problem with Geometry
Why are you forcing the partition table type to PC Intel ? Unless you are using a system older than 10 year, EFI GPT is the recommended choice.
You can ignore the message about the Geometry.
After Deeper Search, use the arrow keys to switch the partition to keep/recover from D(eleted) to P(rimary) or *(bootable).

Re: Recovering partition problem with Geometry
Thank you very much. I'll do what you suggest and report.
To answer the question about why was I forcing the table type, I had this partition (NTFS) for storage only and was dual booting windows and Ubuntu. So when I Analysed I assumed PC was the option because the whole problem started when I tried to install ubuntu 20.04 and accidentally formated the disk. So I was afraid TestDisk would detect That new OS partition instead and so I went for PC. I got confused and scared as you can see.
Anyway I hope this works.
BTW: I attached my images because they weren't displaying.
Thank you very much again for your answer, Mr. Grenier It means a lot to me.

Hello,
Thank you very much for your help.
This is what happended:
I tried analysing with EFI as you suggested but TestDisk wouldn't find my partition, so I stopped the search and tried PC intel again. There, after deeper search I found it. I changed the D to Primary y went ahead to write. Reebooted but I don't know if I shold mount the image to find my files or do I have to do something else. I really don't want to screw this up. I'll wait for your suggestions. This is the log file:

Re: Recovering partition problem with Geometry
In case my last post wasn't that clear:
Apparently Testdisk successfully wrote my missing partition. There were other partitions on that scheme but I don't need those So I chose to write Only the one selected in this image: I rebooted, no errors were shown but when I plug the HDD Ubuntu doesn't detect it.
I looked for the device to try and mount it. It was there: But I couldn't mount it. when I tried sudo mount I got this:
Please help.

If I use Disks It shows me this: How can I mount the HDD so I can gain access to my files?wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb, missing codepage, or helper program, or other error
Please help.

Maybe look up the error message on the wiki?
