Hello everyone! I would like to thank everyone in advance for helping out because I have really backed myself into a corner on this one...I need help, so, before I begin, let me first say that though I am pretty good with technical things, I have not kept up with the current acronyms, terms, or operations, so please elaborate where possible especially if it is an operation that I could screw up. I think you’ll be able to tell where I’m at as we go along here and I will provide screenshots to give a point of reference when needed.
The Issue is as follows:
I was trying to transfer the contents of a Delkin Devices 128GB CFast2.0 memory card (formatted with using the exFat file system on a Blackmagic URSA Camera) to a G-technologies G-Drive Harddisk (connected via USB 3.0) and I accidentally pulled out the memory card out of the Atomos card reader (also connected via USB 3.0) without safely ejecting the card via the taskbar menu https://drive.google.com/file/d/15bIbuW ... sp=sharing. This was done on a HP Omen Laptop running windows 10. Now, when I insert the card into the reader the system asks me to format the card. I suspect (but I could be wrong) that my actions screwed up the boot sector or MBR.
Actions I have taken so far:
I downloaded a whole bunch of utilities but most want between $100 and $300. I normally would not complain about the lower side of that number but when trying one of them out with their “trial” the files it found were changed to .tif and could not be opened. Another software would not recover my data because though it saw my file names accurately, it said my files were too big and were not covered in the trial version. These are 12-Bit image files/frames that make up the 4K video directories on the memory card and each frame is about 4 MB in file size. https://drive.google.com/file/d/12yiBhD ... sp=sharing I do not want to pay for 15 different pieces of software to find out none of them can actually recover the data. Then I came across TestDisk.
I downloaded and ran the software which seemed straightforward at first, but I went through the steps to try to recover the partition
and when it asks to set partition type, https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_cZbj9 ... sp=sharing “exFat” is not a choice https://drive.google.com/file/d/11Dr8R6 ... sp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Kuwvr1 ... sp=sharing, and if I keep it at the current ( 07 HPFS - NTFS) and choose “List” afterwards, It says “ Can’t open filesystem. Filesystem seems damaged https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wtHyib ... sp=sharing.” At this point I can only choose “quit”. I went back to the previous screen, used a menu item called “image creation” and created an image called image.bb
If I go to the previous menu before that, and choose “Analyse”, it shows what looks like 2 partitions that look identical https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cbZ1Bc ... sp=sharing, with the title “Invalid NTFS or exFAT boot” (this is the first time I’ve seen anything the refers to exFat) and then it says "Bad relative sector, No partition is bootable". It then gives me the option to “Quicksearch” or “Backup”. Quicksearch starts a cylinder Analyzation process https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-ozHwb ... sp=sharing that once done, asks me to either “add partition” or “load backup”. ”Loading backup” changes nothing as I am still in the same situation after it asks me to restart, and Add partition asks for data as listed in my screenshot herehttps://drive.google.com/file/d/19nkM6_ ... sp=sharing.
I am at a loss. I have to get these video clips off this memory card. I just drove to Orlando specifically for this project and I am not sure how to proceed. Can anyone help me figure this out?

Re: Cfast2.0 exFAT Memory Card Partition Recovery
After reading that DNG is an extension of the TIFF file format, you could give Photorec a try. It might recognize them as TIFF files as other commercial software did.
Do not write onto the broken drive when being asked for a location to save recovered files!
With Testdisk you would otherwise run Analyse /QuickSearch and try out the Deep search later. Use the log file feature and post it here. During this process use the "p" key to list files inside the proposed partitions. There is a on-screen note when it is available.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I was a bit impatient as some time had passed and I ended up running "chkdsk H: /R" and it fixed the issue. TestDisk seemed like a capable program but I do wish understood the menus items so I could take the appropriate steps.
