Hi guys
So as the subject states I accidentally deleted the partition for one of my external hard drives I then panicked and created a new partition in disk management on windows 10
I then tried to scan the disk with testdisk and all it was showing me was the new allocated partition and I couldn't see my old partition, so I deleted the new partition and the disk is un-allocated now.
IS THERE ANY WAY AT ALL TO RESTORE MY FIRST ORIGINAL PARTITION????
Please! any help will be appreciated I have very important files on there that are not backed-up
diskpart clean command + allocated new partion + deleted new partion

Did you just create the partition or did you format it as well?
Have you run deep search?

Re: diskpart clean command + allocated new partion + deleted new partion
thanks for the replay recuperation
what I did was I selected "new simple volume" on disk management app in windows 10 on the un-allocated disk after using the diskpart clean command, thinking that this would restore the previous partition.
I then ran a simple search and it showed me what seems like to be the new partition I created after clicking "new simple volume" I then ran a deep search and it shows me the same partition.
I'm terrible at backing but I've learnt my lesson!

I do not use Windows 10 privately so I have no idee how Windows 10 operates when it comes to partitioning and formating.
You are still left with Photorec or you could buy commercial software - and hopefully 2 backup drives...
