So i'll try to share the info that i have now
this is the first stop in the analysis at 43%:
then i proceeded like i said and this happened:
While i was waiting for the reply i decided to try and select the partition type suggested by the software for each one and i reached the end of the quick analysis with these results:
and this is the testdisk log until now

so in the meantime i started a deep analysis and tried to use smartmontools.
I'm having some issues with smartmontools but i found an alternative, i don't know if it is good enough but it seems to give some additional info so i'm gonna share it, the software is gsmartcontrol (seems to me made by the same smartmontools people)

i do not know if it could be helpful.
In regard to your answers, i don't understand why would i want to make a duplicate of the drive to use testdisk and also recover using photorec? Is it because the drive is probably damaged? But if i could retrieve all the files using photorec and buying just one new drive wouldn't be better?
I'm very very thankful, and in the meantime i'll try to read here and there like you recommended.
Good evening.
Elia
