Quick search does not show results

#1 Post by smzzo »

I have a WD Elemente 1TB USB 3
Windows does not recognize it: In file explorer does not appear. If i try to open disk manager the window appear buy empty.
I run TestDisk and it have detected the disk with the correct size.
I don´t know the partition table type. But I'm pretty sure it's GPT. TestDisk auto-detects GPT too. I choose it.

I select Analize andTestDisk show:
Disk /dev/sdb - 1000 GB / 931 GiB - CHS 121597 255 63
Current partition structure:
Partition Start End Size in sectors
check_FAT: can't read FAT boot sector
No FAT, NTFS, ext2, JFS, Reiser, cramfs or XFS marker
1 P MS Data 2048 1953456127 1953454080 [Elements]
1 P MS Data 2048 1953456127 1953454080 [Elements]

Then I select [Quick Search]
TestDisk show " Try to locate partition" and a blinking cursor. And that's it. Doesn't show anything else for at least 48 hours.
Does not show any results or stop button
How long should I wait?
If I decide to try to stop it. How do i do it?
Thank you very much for your answers
