"Support for this filesystem hasn't been implemented"

#1 Post by camus »

Hello,

I have this drive: WD 3TB WD30EFRX

Ii will not show up on any file manager on any OS.

I'm trying to use testdisk to determine why, or more important, wipe it clean.

I have done an initial scan and now, two days later doing a DeeperScan.

The results of the initial scan found three partitions:

Code: Select all

Partition Start End Size in sectors
>P Linux filesys. data 2046 4982397 4980352 [1.42.6-5644]
 P Linux Swap 4982520 4982535 16
 P Linux Raid 9453280 5860324199 5850870920 [DiskStation:2]
On the first partition, I get:

Code: Select all

Can't open filesystem. Filesystem seems damaged.
And on the second, Linux Raid partition, I get:

Code: Select all

Support for this filesystem hasn't been implemented.
when I try to list the files in the found partitions.

Presently, I'm doing a DeepScan. Here is what the current scan results look like:

Code: Select all

Disk /dev/sdf - 3000 GB / 2794 GiB - CHS 2861588 64 32
Analyse cylinder 6816/2861587: 00%

Questions:
what should I do when the can completes?
since it says there is no support, should I continue
how can I simply completely wipe the drive, which is really what I want done. Don't need to recover data.

Thank you very much for your considered response.

Thank you for the insight, but how to erase the drive is among three questions asked. Perhaps you would be so kind as to, if you can, please help answer the other two questions.

Thanks a lot.
