Recovery WD Caviar black 1To

#1 Post by GuillaumeC »

Hi !

I lost my /home partition
Please help !
I lost 2 days by trying to fix it.

I have 3 primary partitions : 2 partitions in ext4 ( / and /home) and 1 for the swap

Here is my results before a quick search :

Code: Select all

TestDisk 6.13, Data Recovery Utility, November 2011
Christophe GRENIER <grenier@cgsecurity.org>
http://www.cgsecurity.org

Disk /dev/sdd - 1000 GB / 931 GiB - CHS 121601 255 63
Current partition structure:
Partition Start End Size in sectors

 1 * Linux 0 32 33 4863 15 16 78123008
 2 P Linux Swap 4863 15 17 5835 158 19 15624192
No ext2, JFS, Reiser, cramfs or XFS marker
 3 P Linux 5835 158 20 121601 57 56 1859774464
 3 P Linux 5835 158 20 121601 57 56 1859774464
and after a quick search

Code: Select all

Disk /dev/sdd - 1000 GB / 931 GiB - CHS 121602 255 63

The harddisk (1000 GB / 931 GiB) seems too small! (< 2446 GB / 2278 GiB)
Check the harddisk size: HD jumpers settings, BIOS detection...

The following partition can't be recovered:
Partition Start End Size in sectors
> FAT32 223314 138 4 297488 227 35 1191610949
then

Code: Select all

>* Linux 0 32 33 4862 205 15 78118912
 P Linux Swap 4863 15 17 5835 158 3 15624176
what should I do ?
thanks for your help.

Run TestDisk, Advanced, select your /home partition, choose Superblock and use the given values to run fsck.ext4
