First Time Use Please Help

#1 Post by vamtheanomaly »

Hello,

I apologize if my particular case has been posted, Im a bit lost and new at this. While I have slightly above average knowledge of computers and repairs. Anyway heres my situation.

I have a hard drive with 2 primary partitions on it. I didnt set it up this way, this is how it came when purchased. The hard drive is listed in windows as C: and D:. D can be SEEN by windows 7 but cannot be accessed, so I got testdisk as I heard it was an awesome program.

I tried using the step by step instructions on the website but it doesnt seem to be relevant to my particular case. The D: drive will also list my files with testdisk which I feel is a good sign as I can recognize the files on it. Can someone give me "idiot" instructions step by step on how to make it normal again?

Im apprehensive about just "trying to hit buttons" to fix it because if I ruin the C: drive well, I then will have a large paper weight on my desk instead of a computer. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
VAM
