Testdisk doesn't work at all for me

Basically I downloaded testdisk 6.14 .
I ran testdisk_win.exe as admin, however after I select any of the three log settings I get stuck on the please wait part and nothing happens. I waited about 2 hours for something but nothing happens, so I am wondering whats the problem whether its testdisk or my computor since I've already redownloaded 6.14/6.13 a few times.
