Photorec/TestDisk

#1 Post by sophivan »

Hello,
I use an external USB disk of 500 GB on which I have implemented 9 NTFS partitions from R to Z.
Unwillingly TRUE IMAGE has installed my "system XP" image (15 GB) on my external disk on partition W (215 GB).
I tried to use PhotoRec to restore my files from my previous partition W without success; I suppose I have modified the partition table......
Before making more damage I need an advice to restore my previous partition W and then use again PhotoRec to restore a maximum of the lost files from my previous partition W.

I join 1 screen copy of PhotoRec and 2 of Testdisk.
On TestDisk1,I noticed a "space conflict",what should I do ?
On TestDisk2,the partitions are labeled D : should this mean "Deleted" ?
Thanks for your help,
sophivan

I have made a "Deeper Search",I found 5 partitions D (overlaping),on the last I found "NTFS found using backup sector" (see testdiskwin3bis.png).
On the fisrt partition D,I found my partition V:I don't understand the meaning of "Zone.Identifier" (see testdiskwin4.png)
On the second partition D,I found "Can't open filesystem" : what can I do (see testdiskwin5.png)
On the third partition D, same
On the fourth partition D, I found my "system XP" image which was unwillingly installed (see testdiskwin7.png)
On the last partition D, same as second and third partition D

What can I do to restore my lost partition W ?
Thanks for your help,
sophivan
