Recover SD card patition

#1 Post by gregor171 »

I'd like to recover lost partition on SanDisk 16GB SD card that lost it's data after inserting it into Windows XP. Currently I see 32MB (not 16GB) of empty space and testdisk alerts me with partition doesn't have endmark 0xAA55 and no partition available.

How to get partition and data back?

Would it be possible to confirm through, until you get to your current partition structur in testdisk?
Please, copy and paste the content of your testdisk.log.
You'll find it in your testdisk folder.
If your card has no partition, you can use deeper serach to have a try to find it.
If your partition is in your partition table, you can use the menu Advanced and Boot to make a boot sector diagnose.
If your boot sector and its backup are damaged, you can run Rebuild BS.
In some cases, running a boot sector diagnose with partition table type None helped also.
