Partition Recovery

#1 Post by goroshi »

i have a 1 tb secondaty drive that only stores data. yesterday , it suddenly disappered from windows explorer and shows up in disk management as "unallocated". installed testdisk and followed directions , analyse shows no partions but also shows
Disk/dev/sdc - 1000 GB / 931 gIB - CHS 121601 255 63

Warning : number of heads/cylinder mismatches 47 (NTFS) ! = 255 (HD)
Warning: number of sectors per track mismatches 36 (NTFS) ! = 63 (HD)

Please help. also a question , should i continue the scan as is or is the mismatch going to make the scan useless. Thanks for your help
