I apologize for creating a topic for this, but when I used the search tool I couldn't find an answer to this question.
In the documentation for scripted run it states: "Use the device name, ie /dev/hda, /dev/hdb, /dev/sda."
This is really easy to find in *nix, but what about Windows? When I run Testdisk interactively, I see /dev/sda and /dev/sdd (no B or C) and those are my C drive and my H drive, removable flash drive.
Is there any way to get a reliable list of these 'device names'? Either through a command in TestDisk/PhotoRec scripted run, or some DOS command?
*EDIT* I found the answer to my problem, the clues were in the Windows Computer Management utility, Disk Management tab. "Disk 0" = /dev/sda, corresponding to the physical disk itself. The C drive exists on the third partition, but that is meaningless from the perspective of a file recovery system.
Can I get a list of device names for Windows?
