Like so many others, my 3TB WD MyBook Essential died in the night and would not power-up. After confirm it was not the power adapter, I removed the drive from the case and took it in to Best Buy. Within a minute the Geek Squad tech confirmed the the drive worked and handed me an external drive case. It was a delight until I discovered the partition tables were gone.

Testdisk is now running in analyze mode (MAC Format) on a MacBook pro , 2.66 Intel Core Duo, OSX 10.8.4. Progress is slow (5% per hour, expecting around 20 hours to complete). Does the estimated time and the error message (Bad MAC partition, invalid block0 signature, read_part_mac: bad DPME signature) make sense ? How long should i expect the repair process to take?

The compete log file is shown below.

Thanks
