Accidental DBAN.. pulled after 10 seconds..yes I'm an idiot!

#1 Post by dohdohdoh »

Hi,

I stupidly left my usb hdd (zalman ze300 in dual mode and) in read/write. I booted dban from it and auto nuked what should have been the machines sata drive only. approx 10 seconds in and I realize its nuking the usb hdd.

my question is whats the best way to rescue what little there may be left on the drive?

The drive had one ntfs partition that took up all the drive. if i go to analyze and quick search I can see an ntfs partition but testdisk reports 'invalid ntfs or exfat boot' but I'm unsure where I go from there.. does anyone have any pointers?
