Recovering data from a hard damaged hard disk

#1 Post by Rilco »

Hello, I'm trying to follow the instructions here: http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/Damaged_Hard_Disk

But when I try to find the damaged disk plugged in via a an Ez-Dock, it does not show the disk in either testdisk or in linux when I use the fdisk -l command. If the damaged disk is not showing up in my searches, is it safe to conclude that the data is unrecoverable, or is there an alternative method to finding the disk?

Thank you.
