Recover UDF partition

#1 Post by DustinCross »

I use PhotoRec to recover Quicktime files from a UDF formatted Sony SxS card that was accidentally quick erased.

PhotoRec used to see the UDF partition and recover no problem.

I have not used PhotoRec in over a year, but now it does not seem to be able to read UDF partitions any more. It sees it as an unknown partition instead of UDF like it used to.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,
Dusty

TestDisk & PhotoRec didn't and don't recognize the UDF format (only ISO), but PhotoRec should be able to recover files from UDF partition anyway.

Myself and several of my friends used PhotoRec to recover footage from Sony SxS cards several times and it did recognize them as UDF and recovered all the file. Now it doesn't know what the partition type is and does not recover the files.
