Problem registering written partition in Windows

Hi.
After having deleted and "clean"ed a USB 2TB disk with diskpart, I used Testdisk to write a new MBR to the disk after having selected NTFS.
When Testdisk analyzes the disk now, it can find the partition, and i can browse the directory structure and see the files with the p-option.
When I ask Testdisk to do the final "Write" it does so, and tells me to reboot.
After shutting down the pc, turning off the external USB HD, I power both back on.
The USB HD does not appear with a drive-letter.
Going back into Testdisk, I can see that the correct partition is still there (meaning Testdisk did write it), but what is needed to get the driveletter back in order to browse the disk like normal?
