$MFT Mirror corruption

#1 Post by mattdean »

Hi I remotely look after Windows Server 2008R2 box. Chkdsk tells me there is corruption in the MFT Mirror. Testdisk give a write error when trying to repair the MFT mirror using the MFT.

Question, I am reluctant to reboot this server remotely as I don't know the severity of this issue. I will not be on site till next Tuesday as I am away. I am concerned if they get a power outage or one of the guys reboots the server whether it will come back up.

My question is, will a machine function normally when just the MFT Mirror has an issue?
