HELP pls!recovering data causing another issue

#1 Post by saltshaker »

Hi Guys,

Suddenly one day one of my partition was lost(D drive) due to unknown reason.
Using testdisk, I did tried few approaches like try to retrieved it by simply selecting write on my missing drive and restart, change my missing drive to L(logical), or change to other type, but it always ended with the same boot issue-0xc0000225-Boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible
below is the screenshot of my drives. it is really funny though because my C drive(the one that has ProgramFiles and Windows folder) isn't the primary bootable drive!
The one i tried to recover here is my D drive. My Windows didn't detect it at all.

Can anyone help to resolve my issue pls
Shld i modify the below settings if it isn't right?

Set the first partition as P(rimary), the partition C as *(bootable), the partition D as (Primary).

The partitions 2 and 3 overlaps! You need to set one as D(eleted). Recover your files, run again TestDisk and this time choose the other partition

Hi cgrenier,

If i set my D drive to D(eleted), will it wipe out my data? and how shld i recover my files after that?
For choosing other partition, you mean i shld change it other than P(Primary)?

Thanks!
